LEICESTER City are expected to announce former Swansea City boss Paolo Sousa as their new manager within the next 24 hours.
Sousa, who also had a brief spell in charge of Queens Park Rangers, was released from his contract at the Welsh club yesterday by mutual consent.
It's reported that compensation has been agreed between the two clubs for Sousa's services.
He's set to replace Nigel Pearson, who left the Walkers Stadium for Hull City last week, at the helm.
A statement on the official Foxes website read: "Following his release by mutual consent with Swansea City FC, Leicester City confirm that they have initiated talks with Paolo Sousa in regards to the vacant Manager's job."
The 39-year-old Portugal-born boss spent just over a year in charge of the Swans, guiding them to a respectable finish just outside the League One play-off places.
He won 18 of his 49 games in charge at the Liberty Stadium, drawing 18 and losing 13.
He made his name as a player at European giants Benfica, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, while also featuring over 50 times for Portugal as a defensive midfielder.
Sousa is believed to be a personal friend of Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric and should meet his new squad this week for close season training.
